Late Birthday Party

Rosemary's first birthday was almost two months ago.

We'd planned a party in Central Park but had to cancel it when everyone (except Rosemary) got sick that weekend.

Fortunately Rosemary has no idea when her birthday is, so there was no pressure for a make-up date.

Last weekend Rosemary finally got her party.

Despite it being an extraordinarily humid summer weekend, lots of our friends made it out to celebrate. Rosemary had a great time and really liked her chocolate cake.

Grandparent Time

The Grandparents Keithley spent twelve days in New York at the end of June. The kids had a wonderful time.

Unfortunately for these Washington-State-native grandparents, their trip coincided with the East Coast heat wave. It was really, really hot and humid.

We all spent a lot of time in Inwood's shady parks, and Grandma held off Silas's cookie-baking demands until the heat broke.

Swimming with the Cousins

We recently saw Aunt Lisa, Aden, and Talia at Lisa's brother's house in New Jersey. (Blair is stationed in Kyrgyzstan this year.)

Silas and Rosemary had a great time in the pool, though Silas did not love sharing a floating chair with his sister.

Aden and Talia could have stayed in the pool all day and probably could have slept there, but we eventually fished them out and took a group photo: Kate, Talia, Aden, Page, Rosemary, and Silas.
