Kindergarten Friends

On Saturday Silas bumped into about 1/6 of his kindergarten class on the rocks at Isham Park.

New Orleans

 

We visited New Orleans last weekend with the Grandparents Keithley.

Meredith and I were there for a wedding; the grandparents were there to babysit.

We stayed right on St. Charles Avenue -- the kids loved the street cars.

Rosemary refused to wear her nice shoes.  The Hello Kitty boots are always her first and only choice.

Book Report

It took us a long time to get over the shock of nightly kindergarten homework.

We have grudgingly accepted it on the "can't fight city hall" theory, though we don't take it too seriously.

Over spring break, Silas was assigned a book report. He wrote about James Marshall's "Hansel and Gretel."

A note on spelling: we have been encouraged to let Silas guess how things are spelled, rather than telling him. Feel free to enlighten me on the wisdom of that policy.
