Hawks

Incredibly, a pair of red-tailed hawks have set up residence a hundred fifty feet from our window.

The female (top) increasingly spends time in the nest; the male (middle) comes and goes.

Silas and Rosemary keep binoculars on the window ledge.

Here's hoping for fledglings this spring!

New Couch, New Boxes

Sledding

We had a great weekend of sledding, courtesy of so-called Storm Nemo. 

Silas spent hours shooting down the big hill in Inwood Hill Park -- with me, Meredith, Ollie, Sophia, and many others (see here for more).

Rosemary doesn't have the fortitude to spend as many hours in the cold as Silas, but she does love sledding.  After each run she would say, "Mo!  Mo!"

Swim Class

Silas and Quinn signed up for Sunday morning swim lessons at The Club of Riverdale.

By luck, they are the only two kids in the class. 

The instructor is fantastic and quite funny.

He focused on two things: kicking legs and submerging faces.
